Reading in Daily Life
How Do We Put Reading In To Our Life: Not Another Productivity Tip
There are a hundred hacks to ‘fit reading into your day’ — keep a book in the bedroom or listen to audio-books while doing dishes. But what if we stopped treating reading like an afterthought?”This is for anyone who’s busy and still wants to read not because it’s efficient, but because it means something.
Let's be honest and reflective:
We find time for what we care about — even if it’s just a few minutes here and there. We binge shows or scroll endlessly. But imagine replacing 10 of those minutes with something that charges you, not drains you.
🔥 The Benefit of reading and How to Gain It
One of the rare things that slows your mind down and makes you feel connected — reading, actually provide you a space where you can actively engage.
I have three simple hacks that you can always keep in mind:
- Make a small, real-time promise to yourself
A promise is personal, gentle, and forgiving—it allows you to show up for yourself without pressure. Don’t promise to read an hour a day or finish a book a week. Just remind yourself to spend your 5 minutes break or 10 minutes peace with your beloved book!
- Protect the promise as something that really matters
Link your promises to an existing habit so that you don't feel as if it requires an extra time and effort. Remember to appreciate yourself whenever you really pick and read a book.
💬 “When you honour the promises you make to yourself, you rebuild trust in the quietest part of your soul.” — Brianna Wiest
- Choose books that reward your time
When you are choosing a book, you can consider:
- Fiction that makes you feel alive
- Memoirs that reflect your season of life
- Poetry or essays that give you space to breathe
